Preserve Afaan Oromo for future generations
The Oromo Student Union (OSU) at the University of Minnesota is raising funds to establish the Bula Wayessa Afaan Oromo Language Scholarship.
This scholarship will be made possible through community support and donations.
It is being developed in response to declining enrollment in the University of Minnesota’s Afaan Oromo course and lower levels of Afaan Oromo fluency among Oromo youth. Without action, opportunities to formally learn and practice Afaan Oromo in an academic setting are at risk of being lost.
